i like to read blogs. one that i enjoy is <a href="http://eclecticpaperie.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">eclectic paperie</a>. i've been a subscriber for a while and have admired many a project - like their name indicates, they are eclectic: many different projects and styles..... i find myself moving more towards art journaling and many of the projects and tutorials are great inspiration. check them out. anyway, the whole point of sharing that is to preface this:</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSHdnD-8l2tk-jtS9_NfW69R13DToLANQqZnDbJTQmlb8KGuNgDP1AIppiVcJOGX3nHjcAviP3IHgdCQP-qm9g0yuOfA4HYIjHbvNXnuzJ2-U118carfBFr30NPMSf4LTarfOFDS_QiA/s1600/IMG_4031.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSHdnD-8l2tk-jtS9_NfW69R13DToLANQqZnDbJTQmlb8KGuNgDP1AIppiVcJOGX3nHjcAviP3IHgdCQP-qm9g0yuOfA4HYIjHbvNXnuzJ2-U118carfBFr30NPMSf4LTarfOFDS_QiA/s320/IMG_4031.jpg" width="266" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
what does one have to do with the other you ask? it is for a challenge over at <a href="http://eclecticpaperie.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">eP</a>. now, i'm not really a challenge girl, but for some reason i thought "hmm....you have everything you need, that might be fun." so i did. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
things to note: this paper pad is BIG (to me) at 14x17. it's a long <strike>hoarded</strike> kept remnant of my college days a hundred years ago. it's a sketch pad and of late, i've been using it as a surface protector while i paint, glue, etc in my smaller (i.e. more manageable) books. when one page gets sufficiently grungy, i use it in pieces on smaller projects. looking at it after reading the latest eP challenge i thought, "why not intentionally make a background that can be cut up and used." so i did. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
the challenge is to use gel medium....however you want. so i did. i created the dark purple stenciled circles by mixing some gel medium with shavings from a woodless colored pencil i was using just to see what would happen. wasn't sure i was really going to be happy because once mixed it was kind of an anemic looking purple. it darkened quite a bit while drying and i do like it. the resist circles are simply GM used straight from the jar on the same stencil, then i used Dylusions spray, vibrant turquoise and crushed grape, over the top and let it dry. there were some areas that didn't quite get covered very well so i got out some evergreen bough and shaded lilac distress stains and fooled around with those. then just to play a bit more, out came the broken china distress paint.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: -webkit-auto;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: -webkit-auto;">
it's ok, nothing to write home about but i think it will serve valiantly in many projects!</div>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMgLQXQ50fErDtq1_rIKAFnTL0Gl7kK8yUoyjV-ZsYXObYOCOnij3uFtzn0Ei-bnUEY77MpTwrkLmfv7uFL56hF2GMBv6Yzpx7ZuVLQKKE8puW3I1IBtIYlgAr6zSLhyphenhyphenib9gfXTFQRJw/s1600/IMG_1728.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="304" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMgLQXQ50fErDtq1_rIKAFnTL0Gl7kK8yUoyjV-ZsYXObYOCOnij3uFtzn0Ei-bnUEY77MpTwrkLmfv7uFL56hF2GMBv6Yzpx7ZuVLQKKE8puW3I1IBtIYlgAr6zSLhyphenhyphenib9gfXTFQRJw/s640/IMG_1728.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
the full spread. pretty basic. oh except i made a small flipper. i liked the look of the cupcake pick with the journaling card, but wanted packaging from stuff the girls got for heart day. we'll get to that later.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNaGsSk0tsiJSXgC8VmvrwuVrJNVX3-RTmfdrsNP0PGnVvxpQT-DOnZ582pq41jNKcLPL67Uja7oe1qhGrT-L1Kv3t62csebPaGQbLG9tB_3hKSbRjPzpiMg6YbAhGhgi-ae-VLLSdtw/s1600/IMG_1730.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="383" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNaGsSk0tsiJSXgC8VmvrwuVrJNVX3-RTmfdrsNP0PGnVvxpQT-DOnZ582pq41jNKcLPL67Uja7oe1qhGrT-L1Kv3t62csebPaGQbLG9tB_3hKSbRjPzpiMg6YbAhGhgi-ae-VLLSdtw/s400/IMG_1730.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
see that 4x6 week card? isn't it fabulous? i <i>love</i> graph paper (i added the week 7 and black date strip on the bottom) and couldn't resist it. there is one for every month. don't 't you want them all? then head over and visit ms. valerie brown at <a href="http://valoriebrowndesigns.com/" target="_blank">live. click. scrapbook</a>. ok, onward. monday (top right) is a thank you from my 5 year old birthday twin. the cupcakes were made for valentines day tuesday and for bowling monday night (the girls on our 2 teams brought cupcakes for everyone). you may remember that i got a cool container for my birthday that i wanted to make a terrarium with. well, there it is. with all the layers, it turned out to be much shallower than i expected (and frankly i bought a LOT of plants) so i had to do a lot more planting (life's rough huh ;) i had most of the containers, only bought one more, the cool apothecary jar in the small, middle pic. lastly, a pic that i hope is familiar to many of you since i don't want to be the only one with what seems to be a continuous mess in my kitchen.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCQIyjK1vO5c1_wO4SOsEh4911Ls1duQCybg1vvfg-8s7CgRp0Meyl1rQMiiCFDre7Zya5dV_M2Dev_VIdM0ZJ-QEIOqx6RRX9Qp11UnlCf9Uiz0frFcfXY4RKWGIVH7mEOfyzj1lFxg/s1600/IMG_1731.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="385" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjCQIyjK1vO5c1_wO4SOsEh4911Ls1duQCybg1vvfg-8s7CgRp0Meyl1rQMiiCFDre7Zya5dV_M2Dev_VIdM0ZJ-QEIOqx6RRX9Qp11UnlCf9Uiz0frFcfXY4RKWGIVH7mEOfyzj1lFxg/s400/IMG_1731.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
flowers! from mr. fast-lane! for valentines! it's been a while since i've gotten flowers. pre-go-go-gadget-girls, aka when we had disposable income, i used to buy fresh flowers every week. didn't realize how much i miss them. the pink background is the paper the flowers were wrapped in. the bird. i wish he were mine. he was <i>the</i> most delicate shade of dove grey. absolutely gorgeous. i saw him in passing while getting stuff at the pet store and was struck. didn't think mr. fast-lane would go for another bird so simply mentioned im passing a day or two later. surprisingly, mr. fast-lane said that was fine with him. i'm sure you can figure out the rest of the story. so now i am on the hunt for another little birdy. oh, oh, do you see the cupcake pick? see the journaling card? isn't it fantastic? it's another freebie from <a href="http://valoriebrowndesigns.com/" target="_blank">valerie</a>. you can get them <a href="http://valoriebrowndesigns.com/?p=144" target="_blank">here</a>. i did get the re-do cards, but they are still smallish. even so, i love them. expect to see a lot of them!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeULBvIjCG9fZexaeci2yuEU3MUFdmUZDE59QyJwUO6eeCMUen2YQy4LuTIGhEwMMAf6mxLKQYHhqN0e1xsGSWD0gXWqR0-YOLASQ2cl21gkkihODzu4eolpjzKSusuZHJ19O0dU7i7g/s1600/IMG_1734.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="382" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgeULBvIjCG9fZexaeci2yuEU3MUFdmUZDE59QyJwUO6eeCMUen2YQy4LuTIGhEwMMAf6mxLKQYHhqN0e1xsGSWD0gXWqR0-YOLASQ2cl21gkkihODzu4eolpjzKSusuZHJ19O0dU7i7g/s400/IMG_1734.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
and here's the 'flippy part' flipped. i had part of a disassembled page protector left (goodness, i keep everything) that i filled, closed and taped down with smashbook tape. the red paper is the other side of the pink paper the flowers were wrapped in. the 'stuff' in the pockets is the packaging from magic socks and face cloths the go-go-gadget-girls got for valentines day. they love all that magic grow stuff. ooo, do you see it? another valerie <a href="http://valoriebrowndesigns.com/" target="_blank">journaling card</a>! told ya i loved 'em. the cats. together. you may not realize what a minor miracle that is people. smudge (the cream cat) <u><i><b>hates</b></i></u> magda (black cat lest you have forgotten) because all magda wants to do is play, and smudge is oooooooold. 17 years old. her play is all gone. so anyway, minor miracle. also, please ignore the hideous carpeting. it is older than smudge. waaaaay older. probably around my age. it was here when we moved in and we haven't gotten around to replacing it. kinda has to do with that whole disposable income thing. not a whole lot of that with 3 growing go-go-gadget girls. lastly, a really bad picture of my pee wee friends. tiny little birds that are cute as dickens.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
thanks for sticking with it. i said a lot this week. now i'm off to work on week 8! ttfn</div>Tammy Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00713797609336341462noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8601532176405841360.post-78753075918781550472012-02-26T09:31:00.000-08:002012-02-26T09:31:26.266-08:00winner, winner, chicken dinner!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
yes, it is true. i. am. a. winner. ok, well at least to my friend, um, acquaintance, erm, woman whose <a href="http://inkblotsbytrd.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">blog</a> i frequent, <a href="http://inkblotsbytrd.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Tifani</a>. and well, only because i entered a give-a-way. but hey, i won something! wanna see?</div>

well it should be, but i have a sick child. go-go-gadget-girl 1 is complaining of a tummy ache. one thing you should know: i. hate. vomit. i have a very strict rule, nobody ever vomits alone in my presence. i just can't handle it. yuck. if you're here looking for project life, my apologies. i've got it all laid out in my head, but i am waiting for some lovely <a href="http://astore.amazon.com/beckhigg-20" target="_blank">Becky Higgins</a> goodness to hit my doorstep this afternoon to get my week from my head to my book. i got <a href="http://astore.amazon.com/beckhigg-20/detail/B005TYI23O" target="_blank">photopocket pages G</a> and a couple of the <a href="http://astore.amazon.com/beckhigg-20/detail/B0049MG2PW" target="_blank">journaling cards</a>. i really want <a href="http://astore.amazon.com/beckhigg-20/detail/B0049MFZJG" target="_blank">photopockets B</a> but they may not be available until april (if then) so i'm really vacillating on getting the <a href="http://astore.amazon.com/beckhigg-20/detail/B005TYUDMC" target="_blank">big variety pack 1</a>. i'm not sure if i'd use all the different styles, but then again, maybe if i had them i would. i just don't know, and i already have so much 'stash' that i just hate to add to it. ack, i hate being so indecisive! enjoy your day, and i would love to see your project life in progress, so leave me a comment so i can check them out! ttfn.</div>Tammy Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00713797609336341462noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8601532176405841360.post-29862280584463686582012-02-17T10:23:00.000-08:002012-02-17T17:02:50.819-08:00project life, week 6<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
it was my birthday this week, and the girls got their progress reports, ergo, a few basic inserts</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6wCu4l6bDZDcxOhfcAvx7quT-bWBWDgtxMX7zFStRjUitJkpDDGszlNCfOSol7ziGrIE5d9pIFdPqrm44wo6-ufhgDKd4lNOdsN6lS79pTgcrnuwQ7NtvI63FmtprKIOt19reBaQvBw/s1600/IMG_1664.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="148" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg6wCu4l6bDZDcxOhfcAvx7quT-bWBWDgtxMX7zFStRjUitJkpDDGszlNCfOSol7ziGrIE5d9pIFdPqrm44wo6-ufhgDKd4lNOdsN6lS79pTgcrnuwQ7NtvI63FmtprKIOt19reBaQvBw/s320/IMG_1664.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
not really a full spread pic because of the inserts. that's a progess report. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLuqPZqsyc6_LuswZUUcPch60IytPOoEQ5sgaAPPjPBm6YyNnZnJ5so80ej7PWFNb0VAx6kmkun6TrIYrt7bySKKgwkZOEk7wOeqqiAnti1IloULH4ngic7jH0fQhKvueCZjG1e3lQyw/s1600/IMG_1665.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="264" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLuqPZqsyc6_LuswZUUcPch60IytPOoEQ5sgaAPPjPBm6YyNnZnJ5so80ej7PWFNb0VAx6kmkun6TrIYrt7bySKKgwkZOEk7wOeqqiAnti1IloULH4ngic7jH0fQhKvueCZjG1e3lQyw/s320/IMG_1665.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
there i am. i'm blowing out the candles on my cupcakes at, wait for it, the bowling alley. yup, i'm in a league. myself and some friends from work decided to join on a lark. we'll never go pro, but we have a great time! anyway, we make a big to-do out of everyone's birthday and the whole alley joins in singing. good times. that's go-go-gadget girl 1 standing in the corner. mr. fast-lane's idea. she is currently 10 going on 17 and is starting to see how far she can push boundaries. i guess she pushed too far. some plants for a terrarium i am going to make once i get the container i bought for my birthday. the bottle caps are from an aMAZing mexican dinner we had on my birthday. little hole in the wall. totally authentic, even down to the spanish channel blaring on the tv in the corner. LOVED it!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6CkJ5D2ONjYkDp9uvU3LADG0StXcVWYVd7LwscNWHU8JdLj-8kvXqV810JAPPXobhLVnZqQ7EG6BgrlUsHkQuDNzUIkSgu8uNdoE2v6W6WYdxKEA2E_f6wYqS3CS0GssjeVLQVuC1Xg/s1600/IMG_1666.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="147" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6CkJ5D2ONjYkDp9uvU3LADG0StXcVWYVd7LwscNWHU8JdLj-8kvXqV810JAPPXobhLVnZqQ7EG6BgrlUsHkQuDNzUIkSgu8uNdoE2v6W6WYdxKEA2E_f6wYqS3CS0GssjeVLQVuC1Xg/s320/IMG_1666.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
2 inserts, this is the middle of them...another progress report, a touching birthday card, and a party hat one of the go-go-gadget girls made. still need to do some journaling there by the hat. pretty empty now.<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbJOVNc-LM53Ewn5QmAKVlqgcPP9X5pDAkDM41gHUjiE_SmnnuY1jKOrygRzkZRFgcBtp7Ldp34RFhkjba5cJ7VAfGw_8Za2_Z-Gd-FZyVtZJMmI8H_bjFlKzYFaCVwnb0-fYOZ5G19Q/s1600/IMG_1669.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="249" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbJOVNc-LM53Ewn5QmAKVlqgcPP9X5pDAkDM41gHUjiE_SmnnuY1jKOrygRzkZRFgcBtp7Ldp34RFhkjba5cJ7VAfGw_8Za2_Z-Gd-FZyVtZJMmI8H_bjFlKzYFaCVwnb0-fYOZ5G19Q/s320/IMG_1669.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
the back of the insert, a portrait of moi that go-go-gadget girl 2a made. that's a pencil in my hair. yes, i usually have one stuck in there - although i don't wear a bun on the top of my head, it's a messy pony/bun in the back. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQjwuOEWy8fD06XCQ8faf_H9NVePdeVy2amf6tGUbhEheOzXgnIZLjlKB1E37gQHGUy2JNYa05hTnxRXVcmqRnnehq-Ff7Ol3kZ-kTlylEgxR6Axh_Mc7UZLJTCRjAU2yKyrJHCinyPw/s1600/IMG_1667.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="285" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQjwuOEWy8fD06XCQ8faf_H9NVePdeVy2amf6tGUbhEheOzXgnIZLjlKB1E37gQHGUy2JNYa05hTnxRXVcmqRnnehq-Ff7Ol3kZ-kTlylEgxR6Axh_Mc7UZLJTCRjAU2yKyrJHCinyPw/s320/IMG_1667.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
and finally: art prep at work (a never ending job) go-go-gadget girl 1 reading with her best friends; pixel the pocket pal, and the go-go-gadget girls making dinner on sunday night.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
gotta run, ttfn!</div>Tammy Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00713797609336341462noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8601532176405841360.post-66060026261769843802012-02-17T09:50:00.000-08:002012-02-17T09:51:17.932-08:00project life, week 5<div style="text-align: justify;">
this bodes....i am behind the times. good news? only in posting.....i've been too swamped (or lazy) to take pics of my project life these last couple weeks. so, if you're interested, here we go!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
here's the full spread. the fun thing about this week, is that go-go-gadget girl 2a (that's her in the first pic on the left) took all the pictures this week! i think it's fun to see what someone else's perspective of life looks like, and what's better than an 8 year olds?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>

<br />
left side: 1st off, sorry for the crummy, out of focus photo. ok, again, there is go-go-gadget girl 2a, and those are her feet. no it's not warm enough for flip-flops here. first small pic is her twin, go-go-gadget girl 2b enjoying a chocolate-cherry blizzard; the first sign of spring, a primrose making it's way back; and edemame. last one is of go-go-gadget girl 2a & 2b's floor which is mostly clean.<br />
<br />

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
and the right: some creative play by go-go-gadget girl 2a; the kitten discovered running water; the whole family went to a movie friday; mommy had a girls night out at the movies saturday; my card reader finally went belly up (it was OLD) and this was from the replacement; mr. fast-lanes arm (no idea why) and go-go-gadget girl 2a's pet "ocean"</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
love her pics. less than thrilled with some of my "embellishing" but that's the way the cookie crumbles. i got it done. love how she loves blue!</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
i didn't do a bloody thing (besides take pictures) with project life until sunday. super bowl sunday.
not really the best of combos. i realize there is no deadline to getting
a week done, but having done PL for the past two years, i have found
that if i get behind on a week, that it's hard for ME to go back and
work on it. i also find it difficult to move on unless it's done so it's
a slippery slope for me. i need to stop. breathe. and get to work. it's
not that i am the queen of embellishments or journaling, but in this
situation i have to constantly remind myself that it's ok to just put in
the pictures and jot some words - get it done so i can move forward and
get off that slippery slope.</div>
</div>Tammy Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00713797609336341462noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8601532176405841360.post-69133541288056049992012-01-31T10:08:00.001-08:002012-01-31T18:01:15.277-08:00project life, week 4i have some time, so let's do week 4 too!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglYaDvAZeHeeML_sZUP2NMOk9tvqDZ_YQCg5pQ5FEIeM2QvNPUhMXdDTOD2oU6JWSH_soyi4Ui4GRaF5cXmLR3jix5pC35glqBgvTcIjg9Fs1TpuLukdYhCLejfTFZb4X5sIYb5q0IgQ/s1600/IMG_1449.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="322" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglYaDvAZeHeeML_sZUP2NMOk9tvqDZ_YQCg5pQ5FEIeM2QvNPUhMXdDTOD2oU6JWSH_soyi4Ui4GRaF5cXmLR3jix5pC35glqBgvTcIjg9Fs1TpuLukdYhCLejfTFZb4X5sIYb5q0IgQ/s640/IMG_1449.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
for
some reason, i didn't really take too many pictures last week. uh oh, i
hope that's not a sign. anyway, many of the pictures i took were
vertical - not normal for me, so i had a real hard time laying out my
week (i may have one a week or so, and then i usually just put them in
horizontally, it's no biggie to me). in the end i <strike>mangled</strike>
cut up a page protector that was all verticals and used it as a mini
page. couldn't do as an insert, because i just didn't have the pictures
or <i>stuff</i> from the week to make another full size page. it's gonna
be funky looking in the book because i am going to have a blank page
behind it...see that on the right? i'll probably fill the pockets with
paper at some point.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheS0mwTfTTYlOVznkBMWAEmcQQVevfb7PGSOqx1iY2A5iNkFHRcKtV6Mk3clqAhJC3U7dCmgGcD2_-SgPYI5-Jc8JQT-JTFIFwFLkZaYsxLEEVJ2NN9vJS3S7Bv34Fm0xeuzk5y9vL9A/s1600/IMG_1451.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="574" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheS0mwTfTTYlOVznkBMWAEmcQQVevfb7PGSOqx1iY2A5iNkFHRcKtV6Mk3clqAhJC3U7dCmgGcD2_-SgPYI5-Jc8JQT-JTFIFwFLkZaYsxLEEVJ2NN9vJS3S7Bv34Fm0xeuzk5y9vL9A/s640/IMG_1451.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
"four"
is made from ancient rub ons from me & my big ideas - gonna be lots
of ancient stuff used this year, i have, ahem, quite a stash i'm trying
to deplete. the reading jot on go-go-gadget girl 2b's picture was made
with my vintage (read: old, orange, from the 70's) label maker. family
get together - seriously bad pic but oh well. mr. fast-lanes, um,
buttock region and the lovely bruise he got when he hit the ice on his
bike! the kitten discovered the hamster - it is hilarious to watch her
watch the hamster who seems totally unfazed by the mighty predator.</div>

my did she look SO grown up when she walked out with her cello...i
actually got misty eyed.<br />

that's it. while it's not a thrilling week, and i didn't have a lot of pictures or filler, it is fini!<br />

i love my go-go-gadget girls, and they
really are pretty good, but mornings are just killing me recently.
oldest go-go-gadget (10 now) simply will not. get. out. of. bed. i've
tried everything to get her up, from waking her up, 15, 30, 60 minutes
before the normal time to - i'm ashamed to say - yelling at her. and the
playing...the go-go-gadget girls't aren't allowed electronics before
school, but how does one stop creative play? i wouldn't mind the play if
everything were done. but it's not. constantly telling them to get
dressed, brush your hair, brush your teeth, etc. makes me feel like such
a harpy. they all know what needs to be done, but keeping them on task
has become part of the routine it seems. i could really use some
concrete suggestions if you've got any.</div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
ok. enough whining. on with
something nicer. project life. week three is below. i had it done on
time, just didn't get around to taking pics in a timely manner! again, a
reminder: kit remains, regular scrapper - if you're looking for
something fancy, sorry, that's not me, but i could point you to some
fantastic ones: <a href="http://ellesstudio.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">elle's studio</a>, <a href="http://findingnana.com/" target="_blank">just about everything</a>, <a href="http://www.jennymeyerson.com/" target="_blank">learn with jenny</a>, <a href="http://nicholmagouirk.typepad.com/things_that_really_matter/" target="_blank">nichol magourik</a>, & <a href="http://michellewooderson.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">mish mash</a> for starts. ok, on with the show.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpo_gVZD6UoRseEFTHYiNhV0Q7YC0L_UU2ViyPU_nsn9rOxeqR42JGou8eSjrtRthJzFSWL2Lw4pWcyqNp16K-wmbD5jusFCfeEjjFra-qb-H0XxEDO-O1HMr8xu1l31wH-NyKEkhlNw/s1600/IMG_1446.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="307" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpo_gVZD6UoRseEFTHYiNhV0Q7YC0L_UU2ViyPU_nsn9rOxeqR42JGou8eSjrtRthJzFSWL2Lw4pWcyqNp16K-wmbD5jusFCfeEjjFra-qb-H0XxEDO-O1HMr8xu1l31wH-NyKEkhlNw/s640/IMG_1446.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
you
may notice, it's mainly about snow. snow is a big deal here were we
live....we don't get it too often, and when we do, it's not <i>usually</i>
a lot. this time, we got a lot. schools were closed (extending our year
by 3 days, yuck), and while i am a good snow driver (many years driving
to s. dakota in the winter) i really had no place to go to justify the
driving. we hunkered down and played for the most part. now that it's
over i wish i had included pictures of the indoor stuff like games and
baking. oh well, i'll throw those in the junk journal.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYjUUrhS5m_NWLZZ08UqIxy2scD72jchQVcBHqiZkq4ygk4t-fSsq7TlY3C0wh8rrpQ3QVnZuRvUBP8a3kIHw0CBWfyp93f7-wdMfVahMvIZ-dyAQKucEmhdAtA_qPL53l03Ga4cbUUQ/s1600/IMG_1448.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="576" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYjUUrhS5m_NWLZZ08UqIxy2scD72jchQVcBHqiZkq4ygk4t-fSsq7TlY3C0wh8rrpQ3QVnZuRvUBP8a3kIHw0CBWfyp93f7-wdMfVahMvIZ-dyAQKucEmhdAtA_qPL53l03Ga4cbUUQ/s640/IMG_1448.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
i wrote on monday's picture with a slick writer and the birthday and here birdie birdie pictures
with a making memories opaque pen i got on clearance for $2. i had no
idea if it would be what i wanted when i bought it, but it is exactly
what i wanted....it is replacing my horribly defective sharpie fine
white paint marker. lots of animal pictures...my found kitty, buddy, who
is very scared and only likes me decided it would be a good time to
come in; a brief blurb about the hummingbirds fighting for the feeders;
and the kitten. i don't know how many times she ran into that slider
trying to get the birds (i put seed out for them)</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
ok,
ok, you midwesterners don't laugh at the amount of snow, that was just
one day at different intervals. admittedly, we did only get about a foot
total. i LOVE the picture of mr. fast-lane and #1 go-go-gadget girl,
his expression is priceless. a friend and her parents stopped by on
their x-country outing. ice cream, enough said! oh netflix how i love
thee. between netflix and the postal service, we had new movies to watch
all week! the go-go-gadget girls wanted to do crafts, so i let them
have carte blanche in the craft room (still pretty proud of myself about
that) the title (whose placement bugs the bejezus out of me, but those puppys stuck like nobody's business and i couldn't move them) is ancient thickers. a few day time highs from the
week....i think the pic was a regular 2x2 layout from my <a href="http://www.amazon.com/Canon-SELPHY-Compact-Printer-4350B001/dp/B003YL412A/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1328030186&sr=8-2" target="_blank">printer</a> option and not a <a href="http://www.dipticapp.com/" target="_blank">diptic</a>.</div>

<br />
alright. week 3 fini.<br />

hello, thanks for stopping by. just a reminder, i'm a regular gal
with regular pages; sometimes i wish i were as creative and clever as
many of the others doing PL, but i've mostly come to terms with my
regularness and i really like doing a PL album. i forgot to mention
that i run my weeks monday-sunday. i broke up the weekend the first year
(2010) and figured out i wanted to remember the week as we lived it,
starting with school/work on monday and ending with sunday night. this
means that jan. 1 hasn't been memorialized yet since it was on a sunday.
i plan on doing a little insert that i can pop in the front of the book
later on. also, no title page, it'll come later as well. ok on with the
show.</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
the full magilla. i run the week across the 2 pages - so on the top we have monday, tuesday, wednesday. the bottom is thursday, friday, saturday, sunday. </div>

yeah, not really. this will be my third year doing project life, and i'm still excited by it. amazing. it's fabulous that so many people have decided to join the revolution this year - i personally love to look at all the different pages and probably spend waaay to much time doing so! anyway, i've found that this type of memory keeping is much more <i>me</i> than traditional scrapbook pages....i love the lifeness (is that a word?) of it and including stuff. it's almost like a laid out junk/smash journal (i just started a new one of those as well), and it really resonates with me. i am a regular gal with a regular family and a regular life, so my pages are pretty basic; not a lot of extras are added though i love all that, and secretly wish i had that flair - but that's ok because plain or fancy, it is still holds memories. right now i am using leftovers from the past 2 kits i've used (i have no idea which ones they are at this point) and some freebies i've gleaned from the interweb - God love all those talented people out there that can do what i can't! i would love to win a kit (turquoise please!) but i just may break down and buy stuff later on. </div>

ok, enough. </div>

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">i've been on a search for the perfect lipstain, and i have finally found it! super easy to apply with one of those little foam applicator things (for some reason easier for me than the pens), it is shiny but oh so not sticky when it goes on, and here's the best part: it does not suck all the moitsure out of your lips as it dries! i think it actually moisturizes! i can't speak to the other colors, but #14 smells and tastes like cherry, a nice cherry, not the obnoxious super fake smelling kind. and honestly, it lasts a good 6 hours or better.</div><br />
better hurry and buy some, since i found something i love and wear every day, they'll probably discontinue it!Tammy Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00713797609336341462noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8601532176405841360.post-60895226737892568672010-08-25T07:50:00.000-07:002010-08-25T07:50:33.703-07:00it's happened to me<div style="text-align: justify;">holy funnelcakes. i never thought i would have to utter theses words, but it's true; i am addicted to a computer game. i totally never understood how this could happen to people. until this week. i started playing wizard 101 with oldest go-go-gadget-girl this week and now i can't stop. seriously. we spent all day yesterday - a beautiful sunny day - on the computer playing this game. </div><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">although we don't have any type of gaming system, i'm not totally adverse to them; and i am a product of the 80's so of course i played pac man, ms. pac man, frogger, etc. but they were just something fun to do occasionally. but this game has just sucked me in. i think it's because the more you play, the 'stronger' you get and the harder your quests become. there is <i>some</i> mental aspect because you can fiddle around with your clothes and objects to increase power, health, shields, etc to some degree. but mostly, it's just about running around these 4 worlds (still don't know what the 4th is) collecting items and fighting characters within the realm with spell cards. i know. i know. but i can't help it. i want to level up. i want to get the next spell card or training point. i want my pet to grow. sigh. i'm sure i'll grow out of it soon, i mean really, with 3 go-go-gadget-girls at home who could spend every day doing this? but, if you're ever in krakatopia, make sure to look for rowan pixiepants!</div>Tammy Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00713797609336341462noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8601532176405841360.post-10835376876677134152010-08-23T14:51:00.000-07:002010-08-23T14:51:17.159-07:00the unexpected<div style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">is not always bad! sometimes i forget that. but today i had a great reminder of this oft overlooked fact; in the mail, there was a funny envelope from a prize distribution center. cripes, what kind of junk mail is this, i thought. good thing i looked, because inside was a $25 gift card from safeway! earlier this summer i played one of their summer sweepstakes games and won the g.c. i was supposed to get an email to verify my address. it never came. i forgot all about it. until today. when i opened my mail. maybe i should go buy a lottery ticket.......</div>Tammy Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00713797609336341462noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8601532176405841360.post-20536146522100033092010-08-11T09:42:00.000-07:002010-08-11T09:42:19.407-07:00why is it<div style="text-align: justify;">that people put their kids in the wrong level when they sign them up for classes? the go-go-gadget girls have been in swimming lessons on and off for probably 3 years now. 2 of them are going great guns, the other not so much - she is still in level 1 after several classes. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">this summer we ventured into a new realm: the local outdoor pool - which is only open for 3 months. i like the concept of every day for a half hour classes for 2 weeks (and because we're residents, it's a bit cheaper than the other localish lessons we've done). it's worked really well so far. even the smallest g-g-g-g is enjoying herself and actually frustrated (for the 1st time) because she hasn't moved out of level 1, and mom is getting a respectable tan. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">anyway, the point of my story is this: parents either totally over estimate their children's skill level, or they just pick the lesson time that is convenient to them. this is especially evident in oldest g-g-g-g's lesson. she is at the level where they are perfecting their strokes; or they should be. there is one little girl in her class who can barely do the crawl; she does maybe 3 very shaky strokes and then starts to flounder and dog paddle. the instructor always has to grab her, hold on to her, and walk her the rest of the way down and back. it. is. very. time. consuming. it is the same with all the strokes. it takes a lot of time away from the other 4 students. trust me, i get that it is all a learning curve (remember, littlest g-g-g-g has been in level 1 for at least 7 sessions) but that is what the other levels are for! why put a kid in a level they can't possibly succeed in? i would imagine it would be frustrating not only for the instructor, but especially the child in question. </div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;">so who's responsibility is it in these situations? should the parents take the kid out? are they being selfish if they don't? should the facility step in and move her to the appropriate class? it's been 2 days and i'm not hopeful either way. </div>Tammy Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00713797609336341462noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8601532176405841360.post-76768589776363766742010-08-09T06:58:00.001-07:002010-08-09T06:58:55.027-07:00sighi didn't win the silhouette....did you?Tammy Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00713797609336341462noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8601532176405841360.post-2607126577895732102010-08-05T12:49:00.000-07:002010-08-05T12:49:31.805-07:00even MOREchances to win! i am determined to do everything possible to win the coveted-by-me <a href="http://www.qksilhouette.com/whatIsIt.aspx">silhouette</a>. and since i am such a giver, i thought you might like 2 more chances to win as well! head on over to <a href="http://momadvice.com/blog/2010/08/special-giveaway-silhouette-craft-cutter-300-value">Mom Advice</a> and <a href="http://asoftplace.net/2010/08/silhouette-craft-cutter-giveaway-300-value/">A Soft Place to Land</a> for your chance. while you're there, make sure to poke around the sites. i've been a fan of soft place for a while, and while it was my first trip to mom advice, i found it quite enjoyable. ttfn!Tammy Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00713797609336341462noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8601532176405841360.post-78034046603721777972010-08-03T07:20:00.000-07:002010-08-03T07:20:56.032-07:002 more chancesi REALLY want to win a silhouette, how about you? here are two more opportunities for all of us, check out <a href="http://dollarstorecrafts.com/2010/07/win-a-silhouette-cutter">dollar store crafts </a>and <a href="http://www.sugardoodle.net/joomla/">sugardoodle</a> for your chance to enter. of course, while you're there look around and maybe do some subscribing!Tammy Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00713797609336341462noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8601532176405841360.post-84015499458376841872010-08-02T17:24:00.000-07:002010-08-02T17:24:34.273-07:00i REALLY want one!yet another place for a chance to win the tool i want so bad but can't afford: check out the <a href="http://www.theidearoom.net/2010/08/silhouette-giveaway.html">idea room</a> for your chance. and while you're there, make sure to look around, her blog is aptly titled, there are a ton of great ideas!Tammy Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00713797609336341462noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8601532176405841360.post-38132670576121430012010-08-02T14:34:00.000-07:002010-08-02T14:34:45.122-07:00holy cow<div style="text-align: justify;">another chance to win one of the tools of my dreams! <a href="http://www.tidymom.net/">tidy mom</a> has a give-a-way going, and the prize? the much drooled-over-by-me silhouette! i'd tell you to head over <a href="http://www.tidymom.net/">there</a> and enter, but i'm selfish and want to win! oh, ok, you can enter too; but be warned, i'm going to win! - however there are a couple of pretty good promos for the silhouette there as well. and while you're entering, make sure to check out the blog, it's pretty fantastic!</div>Tammy Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00713797609336341462noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8601532176405841360.post-42403777930611702192010-07-12T07:40:00.000-07:002010-07-12T07:40:54.128-07:00do you want a silhouette?<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">i do. but, with another child's orthodontia looming, school shopping for 3, swimming lessons, golf camps, bills to pay, food to buy, birthday's to celebrate, trust me the list goes on and on - i just can't justify the money. ever. there's always something else more pressing. i know, wah, wah, wah. the point, however, is this: every chance i get to possibly (no matter how remote) get one for free, i take. thought you might like to enter yourselves. so go check out <a href="http://littlebirdiesecrets.blogspot.com/2010/07/silhouette-digital-cutting-tool-review.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+LittleBirdieSecrets+%28Little+Birdie+Secrets%29&utm_content=Google+Reader">Little Birdie Secrets</a> for your chance to win one and while you're there, check out the blog it's chock full of great craftiness!</div>Tammy Bhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00713797609336341462noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8601532176405841360.post-86114636692534108982010-07-08T18:56:00.000-07:002010-07-08T18:56:37.775-07:00seriouslyis it too late for me to become a marine biologist?<br />
